Meta tags provide a useful way to control your summary in some search engines,they are used as part of your HTML code.
With META Tags you can have the robot display your Web page description the way you want it displayed (within reason of course).
You can also help people find your Web page by providing keywords that describe your page and help drive traffic to your Web site.

DHTML Page Transitions.

If you were using Internet Explorer 4 or above when you entered this page, you probably noticed that the screen dissolved from the previous one to the actual page. This was the work of a type of Meta tag. This tag, unfortunately, is only compatible with IE4+, but provides a great effect (and allows normal viewing in Netscape).
The Meta tag is very easy to insert, once you know how to use it.
These tags are called DHTML Page Transitions and like all meta tags, they must be inserted between the <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags of your page.
