Questions travellers ask
What does a call cost?
You pay per minute, in credits: 25 credits a minute to a landline and 50 to a mobile, billed per started minute. The app shows the rate before you call, a call can run up to 10 minutes, and unused credits come back.
Is the first call really free?
Yes. Your first call is free for up to 2 minutes. Most calls take under a minute anyway.
What if nobody picks up?
Then it costs nothing. No answer, a busy line or voicemail is free, and the app tells you what happened so you can try later or call somewhere else.
Does the business know it’s an AI?
Yes. Alfred introduces itself as an AI assistant, then sticks to what you asked for.
Which languages and countries?
Alfred speaks 19 languages on the call, from Japanese and Thai to German and Arabic. You write in your own language and get the answer back in it. It calls ordinary landlines and mobiles; emergency and premium-rate numbers are blocked and cost nothing.
What happens to my data?
Summaries and transcripts stay in your account until you delete them, and Alfred doesn’t store call audio. Your phone number and email are only shared if you switch on Share my contact details.
Is there an Android app?
Not for now. Alfred is an iPhone app, currently in a private beta on TestFlight.
